All carpets in our collection are hand woven on looms owned and personally supervised by Romania's fabled carpet maker Berdj Abadjian. For almost a century, Berdj's name has been synonymous with carpet making in Romania. By far the largest exporter of Romanian carpets, Berdj's relentless passion has produced some of the most magnificent carpets of the last 100 years.

Each carpet bears Berdj's unmistakable touch. From design development to hand selection of wool and dyes, he meticulously guides every detail of his vast operation. Not since the 17th century has there been a hand weaving enterprise of such scope and itensity, where craftsman and artist are joined so intimately.
